Let People Get Their Money-Stop Hatin

The other day a report came out about how much certain news anchors make. Matt Laurer makes around 17 million a year, Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News makes 13 and the list goes down from there. Obviously that’s a lot of money that most people will never see in their lifetime. And the comments people left on the article genuinely pissed me off.  A lot of people mad that somebody else was making money. I read a barrage of comments saying “Why do they make so much?” “They don’t deserve that money give it to factory workers and teachers!” “I’m so sick of actors and actresses and athletes making so much money!”
Apparently people don’t understand how money and careers work.  So I doubt they understand how TV works.
Quick breakdown: People watch the show, the more people who watch the more commercials cost because what company doesn’t want 5 million people seeing their product 10 times a day 5 times a week and if the TV network knows that why wouldn’t they sell the commercial spot for thousands of dollars. That’s how TV networks make their money commercials. But I digress.
So because NBC can sell those spots for so much and news shows are relatively inexpensive to produce they make a lot of money. And who gets a good amount of that money, the guy who gets people watching.
It’s very simple.
And to the fools who can’t understand why factory workers can’t get the millions or hundred of thousands that some professions get…I turn my nose up at you in disgust.  No offense or disrespect  to anyone who work those jobs, but almost anyone could do them.
Not everyone can sit infront of a camera and look as natural and comfortable while having a director talking in your ear telling you what camera to look at, what segment isn’t ready to air and how much time you have to say what you’ve spent hours beforehand writing. Oh yeah don’t forget the 5 million people watching you cause if you mess up they see it, it’s live there are no do overs. Tell me most people could handle that type of pressure.  Most of ya’ll would freeze the fuck up. It’s more than just “reading the news on TV.”
And don’t get me started on people who say athletes shouldn’t get paid as much as they do. I’m going to save that for another day but I will say this: NOBODY WANTS TO SEE YOUR FATASS TRY TO RUN, JUMP, THROW, CATCH AND SHOOT!!!
Now  I do agree that teachers should be some of the highest people in our society. There’s no way  in hell I could deal with little bad ass kids that don’t even belong to me who don’t have any home training. Trust me I hear the stories my mom’s a principal plus I used to hang with ya’ll wild ass nigguhs.
But unfortunately for them they will never see the pay they deserve cause they are state employees. So unless people want to more taxes they can’t complain.
So there’s my rant on the whole situation that you can’t complain or shouldn’t be mad because someone earns more than you. It’s jealousy. People worked hard to get where they are and get paid what their employers see fit. Especially TV reporters…but of course I’m probably biased since I want to be in Matt Laurer or Brian William’s position one day.
I’m comin for you suckas!!!!
